You can easily transmit any of Zelfi's software-applications from your PC on your mobile phone by using Bluetooth, Infrared or cable. It's really simple; but for newcomers to this field the detailed explanation can be read here:

  1. Download the software on you PC. Just press “download here”, after having chosen your mobile phone manufacturer and design model. Wait for a few seconds then a window will open to determine a target directory for the software-data. Please remember the memory capacity; you have to reaccess it after the installation. Choose “file saving on floppy/hard disk” and press “ok”.
  2. Open the downloaded data in the target directory. The data’s title is composed of the alphabetic characters of the software’s name, the mobile manufacturer’s name as well as the mobile’s design model and results in “. zip”. That means it’s a compressed/packed data. Before the software will be transmitted on your mobile, the zip-file has to be depacketised! Having done this, you are faced with two data: one’s ending is “. jad”, the other one is “. jar”. You have to choose “. jar” for the following data transmittal!
  3. Using Bluetooth, Infrared or cable, can carry out the transmittal.
Bluetooth:

A wireless gateway, allowing small data mining’s transmittal, is called Bluetooth. The condition precedent to Bluetooth-transmittal is the existence of a Bluetooth mode of operation on the transmitting hardware, e.g. on a PC and a mobile phone. You have to activate the Bluetooth mode of operation first before using it.

Activation of Bluetooth: It depends on your mobile phone, but normally you find the Bluetooth mode of operation in “modulation” and/or “connexions”. Normally, a blue sign is visible on your mobile when activating the Bluetooth mode of operation.

On your PC, the Bluetooth-sign normally is situated in the task bar down to the right. By clicking on it, a window is opened. Please press “Bluetooth environment” to acquire all capable Bluetooth-sets in the surrounding area.

You need a PIN for data-transmittal. The same numerical series must be entered in both entry masks. The numerical series is arbitrary, e.g. 12345.

Infrared:

A data exchange for short-ranges via Infrared can be effectuated with an Infrared interface. Like Bluetooth, it’s necessary that both terminals dispose of Infrared transmittal.

Activating Infrared: Normally, on your mobile you’ll find the Infrared mode of operation in “modulation” and/or “connexion”. After activating the Infrared mode of operation a red sign is visible on your mobile’s display.

An internal Infrared-port or an external Infrared-adapter on your PC has to be available which you need to install, set up and eventually activate.

There must not be any obstacles between transmitter and receiver. There has to be a direct optical connexion between the systems of data exchange. If difficulties occur, it can be attributed to an overrated transmittal. Try to reduce the transmittal’s speed in your mobile’s modulation if possible.

Choose “activate” on your PC’s task bar by clicking on the Infrared’s accoutrement with the right mouse button. Sometimes it’s enough to just put the mobile in place to the Infrared interface. On both transmitter and receiver the gadgets will be recognised and displayed as “available”.

Cable:

The transmittal between mobile phone and computer will be stronger when using cable than using Infrared. For nearly every mobile cable are available. The cable has to be attached to a free serial interface (COM1 or COM2). The particular program (COM1 or COM2) needs to be specified for data exchange. The gadget’s recognition on this interface will be displayed immediately.

Installation

In your mobile’s menu you choose the folder where the “. jar” data was saved. Choose the game’s title then follow the instruction of installation.

Start the software

Just click on the game’s title and let’s go!

The configuration of WAP and GPRS

A WAP-access is needed to require an installation text-message. Later, GPRS will be used for the communication between the servers. The system access points have to be cut out on your mobile correctly. Foe receiving an installation text-message your WAP-configuration possibly needs to be changed to allow a WAP-push.

In case you are the owner of a newer mobile’s designer model, you can easily cut this out in your text-message’s menu. Your network provider is able to give you all information you need. They also send configuration parameters on your mobile, so your mobile’s settings will be changed automatically. Please ask your network operator how to adjust your settings.

This has to be installed correctly:

  • The WAP-access to download games
  • The GPRS Internet-access
Some mobiles are already preset correctly and the configuration is already done.
